I grew up in a christian home and went to church every Sunday. It still took me 15 years to truly make the faith that I saw in my parents my own. For you see, I had spent many years thinking that I was saved, but as the bible says in Matthew 7:21, ” Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” It was in the summer of 2009 that I went to youth camp with my church and we had to memorize these verses, which really hit me hard. That night in the service the Holy Spirit convicted me of my sin! The Bible says in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” so I went forward and my youth leader Jay Yoder showed me from the bible how I could be saved. In Romans 5:8 it says, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” and here I understood that I was a sinner. Then I read in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Now I understood that sin has a penalty to be paid. I then understood that Jesus paid this penalty for me by His death, burial, and resurrection. In 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 it says ” For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” That night I truly accepted Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. I became a son of God as John 1:12 tells me, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” So this is my new identity!! A year later I was at Camp Victory again and I heard the Holy Spirit say to me will you go with my Gospel to the lost and dying world. That night I surrendered my Life to be a missionary.
I was born into a Christian home to parents who taught me about the Lord. I knew about Jesus dying and rising from the dead. When I was 6, my little sister and I got into an argument about people going to heaven. My parents heard our argument and told us they would explain it to us that evening. They told us about salvation and how it is a personal choice. That night I accepted Christ as my personal Savior. I knew I had been saved but I still had the fear that I was not good enough. My senior year of high school I finally realized that I did not have anything to do with my salvation but that Christ had paid it all and that because I had accepted it I was His child. I began to develop a desire to serve the Lord which grew when I came to Vision Baptist Church. I left for college at Pensacola Christian College to get a degree. After a year and a half of college, I attended the Our Generation Summit and there on January 2, 2015, I surrendered to overseas missions. The Lord led me to finish my degree and I returned to college. That next summer I met Robert who was a student at the Our Generation Training Center, and we started dating the following winter. A year later we got engaged and married soon after my graduation from PCC in May 2017. The Lord really grew us and prepared us during our long-distance relationship as we prepare for the ministry God called us to.
