Man of Influence

Mann

Today I will be talking about another man who has influenced me in my life. Jason Mann, missionary to Hungry, with his wife Senja and three kids. I met Jason when he came to my church for a mission’s conference. He is the one that first told me about Vision Baptist Missions. Right from the start of our relationship, he poured into me, challenging me to do something for God. Well, our friendship grew and he allowed me to go with him on deputation for a few weeks. I went with him to North Dakota, Illinois, and New York. It was incredible. I learned a lot about what missions really is in the nitty and gritty. But I would have to say the main thing I learned from him would have to be work hard but have fun. You see he worked hard and did the work he was supposed to do, but he had fun doing it. We worked hard on the trips we took but we also had fun doing it. I think that is something to really learn from because if all we do is work, work, work, we will burn ourselves out. We need to do things that help us enjoy what we are doing, as well as to show our families we love them, and to help our minds relax. You see Jesus Himself told us in Mark 6:31 “And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.” Now, remember we relax after we have our work done. When we work hard we need to have fun and relax. So, one of the bigger things I learned from Jason Mann is do your work but have fun doing it so you don’t go crazy. As well as you need to love what you are doing. I am very thankful for Jason and his friendship. Check him out at gothyway.com
