Finding God’s Heart

Acts 13:22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

Here we see in this verse God says He that David was a man after God’s heart and will. Wait what? David? The man who lusted and committed adultery, the one who orders a man to be murdered in battle? This was a man after God’s heart? I don’t know about you but in Sunday School I was taught that those who wanted to follow God had to stay away from those things. But here David is a man unfaithful to his wife, killing his friends, and trying to cover up his sins so no one catches him. To me, it seems like David would not be going after God’s heart but the bible which cannot lie says otherwise.

How can this be? Maybe because David saw his mistakes and knew he had to change in order to do His will. God is a merciful God who loves us and wants a relationship with us. We just need to humble ourselves and as David admit our wrong to God and He will forgive us because of His Amazing love! I wonder if God could say that I am a man after his Heart you know I have done wrong just like David did but am I humble like he was? Admitting my wrong and my need for Jesus Christ? Are you that type of person? I pray that it can be said of me that I am a man that is after God’s heart that I live a life which says I want God and I want to do His will! You see that is why I am going to Argentina for an internship because I want what God wants from my life. I pray that well my wife and I are there that the people of Argentina will see that we are going after God’s heart. Please pray for us as we raise support for our internship.
