This past week, I was blessed with the opportunity to go with Hector the young man that is in training to be the pastor at Victory to a youth conference in San Miguel de Tucumán. This was a great time for me to practice Spanish and learn how ministry is done in another city here in Argentina.
We were able to stay with Pastor Ezequiel Rojas. He has two churches that he pastors and is doing a great work. The conference was held at Bethel Baptist Church which is where missionaries Larry Owens and Brian George work. It was great to visit with them and learn from them and their many years of experience working here in Argentina. They have helped to start around 30 churches. On Sunday, we were able to visit a church up in the mountains with Pastor Matias Diaz where, not only did we have many people in attendance, but we also had a family of chickens wander in and join us for the service!
I am so thankful for the opportunity to go and learn and see another needy city here in Argentina. I grew in my language skills as well as in my understanding of the people and culture.
