September Missions Update

Month in Review

September was a good month here in Argentina. We praise the Lord that the first Sunday of the month we were able celebrate the fourth anniversary of Victory Baptist Church. This was a great day filled with preaching, singing, giving of testimonies, joy, and of praising and giving thanks to God for the work He has done in so many lives through the church. Then everyone who came was given a special gift. Afterwards there was a time of fellowship with cake and taking of pictures of each family in attendance. We praise the Lord for the growth of the church in numbers, but more importantly in the spiritual lives of so many here in Rosario through the church and ministry of the Bateman family. We are so thankful to be a part of this church for the last year and a half. Now we are beginning to prepare for missions conference coming up in October. We are excited for this and ask that you pray for the conference as well as the people of the church that they would grow more in their walk with the Lord and be burdened for reaching the lost around them.

Surveying Santa Fe

Our survey trip this month was to the city of Santa Fe. Santa Fe is only two hours from Rosario and in the same province. It is one of the top 10 largest cities in Argentina with a population of a little more than half a million. As far as we know there are no Baptist missionaries currently in Santa Fe and we are not even sure if there is a church with sound doctrine in the entire city. Santa Fe is a very religious city. We saw many churches including one with a statue set up in the plaza in front of the church with a group of men bowing to it. While the city is very full of religion, it is very empty of the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
